10 weeks course (11 classes) of character design from story to final lineup + concept arts / book illustrations + presentation by 2 secret guests. 1 600€ (160€ per week, you will be charged once a week during 10 weeks when subscribing) When applying, please send your portfolio to : info@louisnotthomas.com (If you have no experience at all and never attended any art classes please email me before applying). About me : I have been a character designer and illustrated 60 books since 2012. My latest clients include Pixar, Illumination, Netflix... I have been teaching art direction on graduation films at Gobelins school since 2017 as well as workshops worldwide in Greenland, Qatar, Denmark... Welcome to this workshop ♡ The course will have a duration of 10 weeks (11 classes) from September 13th to November 22nd, via ZOOM (you will receive the link on day-1). Classes will be from 6PM to 9PM Paris clock on Saturdays so people international can participate. As we are a small group on purpose, every week is an exchange with questions and conversations, also through a Whatsapp group during the week. WEEK 1 : - Introduction to the class. - Presentation of my work. - Presentation : « illustration / animation ». - How to build a portfolio that goes with your expectations. - Choosing your script and number of characters. - Moodboard / Researches / References. - Launching the "Cutouts". WEEK 2 : - Cutouts corrections - Silhouettes and diversity of shapes - Launching "A puzzle of characters" WEEK 3 : - Comments on everyone advancement and work - Notes to refine your first ideas - Launching "One character" WEEK 4 : - Comments on everyone advancement and work. - Notes and advices. - Launching "Another character" WEEK 5 : - Notes and advices. - Launching "Final Lineup". WEEK 6 : - Final lineup final review - Special guest character designer talk / presentation - Notes and advices - Launching "Lineup 2nd week" WEEK 7 : - Notes and advices - How to choose your concepts based on scripts - Launching "Cutouts" WEEK 8 : - Notes and advices - First roughs and ideas - Launching "Roughs" WEEK 9 : - Notes and advices. - Launching "Finals" WEEK 10 : - Special guest Concept artist talk / presentation. - Notes and advices WEEK 11 and after : - Final concepts - Last goodbye ♡ I always remain available for you to help with your portfolio and answer questions if I can :-)
